Desco Electronic Recyclers is a South African company situated in the Johannesburg area. Costa Airaga founded Desco in 1992. Prior to that he had a company manufacturing lubricators for the gold mining industry. Because of the fluctuating gold prices and drop in sales he then started Desco.

Recovering the metals from electronics that were being dumped in landfills. There was also the opportunity to provide services to the ever growing IT industry, communications industry, corporations, governments, educational medical institutions as well as the military for the disposing of their scrap, obsolete and redundant equipment.

Desco Electronic Recyclers is a company that has been in operation for the past sixteen years. Our head office and main processing yard is in Kempton Park, and we have a branch in Cape Town. Desco services primarily the IT and telecommunications industries, but we also provide services to corporations, government, educational and medical institutions for the disposing of redundant and obsolete equipment.
